Caleb Rixon

In his hometown of Geelong, Caleb began his training with the GSODA junior players and made his Directorial debut in a production of The Wiz, aged 14 and recently was the Assistant Director of the Australian Premiere of Jane Eyre.

He was a featured soloist in the 2003 United way Concert with Renee Geyer and other credits include The Sound of Music, Bye Bye Birdie, Camino Real and Godspell.
In 2004 Caleb completed his 2nd year of Music Theatre (BA) at the Ballarat Arts Academy, performing in 42nd St, A Midsummer Nights Musical and The Virgin Wars.

After being accepted into WAAPA in 2005 he appeared in Chess, Hiawatha, Sweet Charity, played Charles Guiteau in Assassins, Tonton Julian in Once on this Island, Baby John in West Side Story, Robert in Jane Eyre and Prime Minister Billy Hughes in the New York Music Theatre Festival production of The Good Fight.

In 2006 Caleb performed in the Perth season of The Boy From Oz and sang in Channel Nines Carol’s by Candlelight. Caleb has also had sell out seasons of his self-devised cabaret shows If you can’t find me I’m there and Institutionalized.

2008 proved to be a year of highs and lows for Caleb. He performed the lead role of Stephen in the Kookaburra workshop of Crusade, he made his professional stage debut in the Off-Broadway smash hit Altar Boyz and in October ’08 he was cast in the major musical Chicago, starring Caroline O’Connor.

Sadly in November 2008, just 3 days after his 24th birthday Caleb suffered a life threatening brain bleed. The determination he has shown throughout his competitive show business career was a sound rehearsal for the battles he has endured on his road to recovery and the mountains he has to climb in the future. Caleb is and always will be a star! Some people just have it – and he has ‘it’ in bucket loads!
