Lesley Hancock
Lesley Hancock has been entertaining and inspiring the Australian public for more than 20 years. A professional actor, writer and cabaret performer she has spent her life in the arts and has a strong history of performance in cabaret, television, theatre and corporate entertainment.
After training at the Ensemble Theatre with the late Hayes Gordon she developed her superb comedic talent and honed her skills as a gifted comedy writer and musical performer .
She became the creative force behind the highly acclaimed comic duo “Absolutely Not–“ which provided the corporate arena with hilarious comic satire and impersonations . Her Patsy from AB FAB , Princess Diana and the incorrigible Rose Hancock Porteous are legendary . For many years she could be found “off Broadway” in the depths of Darlinghurst at the infamous Yipiyiyo theatre restaurant ..
The last ten years she has been the fearless leader and Major conceptualist behind her corporate entertainment company Leave it to Diva writing and performing for major clients such as Qantas, Boeing, Virgin, Hong Kong Cancer Foundation ,Optus, Telstra and Macquarie Bank, both nationally and internationally
More recently she has teamed up with Trevor Ashley creating the appallingly fabulous Chi Chi and Cha Cha Lombardo This glamourous but ghastly Hispanic couple of shipboard entertainers will soon feature at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival . They will also star in a new television pilot directed by Stephan Elliot.
Her career also includes television both in Australia and the UK in programmes such as All Saints, Water Rats, Home and Away and more recently Underbelly 3 The Golden Mile
Her diverse musical talent has seen has seen singing everything from Opera to Broadway, scripting and translating libretto for Opera Australia, , performing on the Comedy Channel even writing parodies for Maria Venuti! A recent career highlight was the V Australia Launch for 4000 people at Cockatoo Island followed the LA launch at Chateau Marmont in Hollywood and getting to sit on Richard Bransons knee as her legendary Qantas hostie, Bernadette !
